Frequently asked
01What is APRide?
APRide is a ride-matching web app exclusively for verified APU (Asia Pacific University, Kuala Lumpur) students and staff. You post a planned trip between fixed campus-area pickup points, match with people already going your way, and coordinate through Microsoft Teams. It is not a ride-hailing service — no drivers, no fares, no in-app payments.
02Who can use APRide?
Only the APU community. You must log in with an APU school email (apu.edu.my, mail.apu.edu.my, studentmail.apu.edu.my, or staff.apu.edu.my) and complete your profile before posting or joining rides.
03Is APRide free?
Yes. Free accounts get full matching with up to 2 active ride posts at a time. APRide Premium (RM 9.90/month or RM 99/year, 2 months free) removes the cap and adds perks.
04What does APRide Premium include?
Premium (RM 9.90/month or RM 99/year) includes priority placement so your rides surface at the top of the board, unlimited active ride posts, advanced filters (time windows, seat count, area shortcuts), and a Verified+ badge on your profile and ride cards.
05How does ride matching work?
Post a ride between fixed pickup points up to 7 days ahead — or join one that matches your route. Contact details are visible only to participants of the same ride, and everyone coordinates via Microsoft Teams or email. Whether to share the ride is always your own decision.
06Is APRide like Grab? Does it handle payments?
No. APRide only helps verified APU users find ride matches. It provides no transport, paid driving, dispatch, routing, maps, pricing, or payment. There are no drivers earning fares — it's classmates sharing rides they were already taking.
07Is APRide safe?
APRide is a closed community: every user logs in with an APU school email, contact details are visible only to ride participants, and sharing another user's TP number, email, or Teams contact outside a ride is against the rules. No-shows, unsafe behavior, and spam can lead to account restriction; reports are reviewed manually.
08Is APRide an official APU service?
No. APRide is an independent product built for the APU community by DUOCODE TECHNOLOGY and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Asia Pacific University. The APU school-email login is used to keep the community campus-only.
Full plan details are on the pricing page; the complete operating boundary is on the rules page.
